Mother Nature let r rip...

....on Monday eve...the downpour made me "Is-it-still-Monday-I've-Got-Sand-in-my-Eyes-I-Need-A-Nap-the-Eyes-are-burning-Want-to-go-Home" tired on Tuesday! I do love the sound of rain beating on the roof/ground...it is calming, but I was too tired to truly enjoy it.

Saw flashes but what caught my attention was the Thunder....the clap & roll. [Not a new dance move] I love a good Thunderstorm...just not on an hours sleep. I went to bed early for a reason, Mother Nature!
Oh, oh, oh...and when I thought I finally escaped into La la Land...the Angels decided to take photos [flashes], and bowl [thunder], and water the flowers [rain on us]....especially Jimmy angel..who decides to bowl a strike! Ka-Pow-Bam-Boom-Clap-Wake-The-Hell-Up! My heart rate jumped 20 notches AND my sleepy imagination jumped into PLAYING DEAD [the book I am currently reading] mode of: the dark room holds a murderer with blood soaked hands, black dispassionate killer eyes...standing in the corner and you'll see him as soon as another flash of lightening brightens up the room - SCREAM! Why do I read these books, btw?! Just sayin'!

Now...whatever the rain stirred up from the hell pits of yards - grass and earth - kick-started my allergies in full force! Thanks, Mother Nature,...thanks!

Just have one request: I love you, Mother Nature...but, KEEP IT DOWN AFTER 10pm!!!

She will be co-hosting with a couple of comedians...I had them for an interview...she gets them all morning...just sayin'

For those unfamiliar or unknowing...Johnny Gardhouse & Darren Frost will be amongst the comedians performing this Saturday at the Roxy Theatre in Owen Sound. Johnny is from OS and Darren was the Listerine SuperHero Guy [the commercial].

They aren't a part of the "family friendly" show...well, um...Darren isn't. Johnny will behave...I think. :) Anyway.........they are going to be performing at the Owen Sound Comedy Festival this Saturday....AND...the gal I sooooo want to see: Nikki Payne, will be phoning Mix 106.5 and chatting with Jamie Johnston. bee-....you-know-the-rest! Remember Nikki on MAD-TV as the weather girl who had my luck & she swore A LOT?! lol Here she is:

Of course, the way my luck is....I'm at The Holstein Rodeo Saturday...so if you go...tell them I love them & to come party in Holstein after the show and well...whatever...

Yet another war-wound appears on my slow tanning body...yes...another injury from the weekend. No, no...I wasn't doing anything physical like climbing Mt. St. Helen's, or kayaking down the mighty river, or running from wild hippos...I was washing the dishes.

Um, yes...you heard [I mean saw] right...I was washing dishes!!! Go figure! One mug going in the dryer-rack..hits almost dry glass #1...and EXPLOSION! Two large pieces fly out...and, I guess glass #1 was upset that I brought glass #2 down upon him 'cause he spit at me...

A large piece of glass lightly sliced [ok...skimmed] my arm. How can such a small wound bleed so much???? Sheesh! On to my next adventures...

I sure hope you are enjoying Canada Day and celebrating in some form or other! I can't help it! I am a proud Canadian...I loved growing up in the Maritimes and traveling through parts of this country. I am happy to be living in Canada! And, I love red & white. Well,...red is my fav color. And, if it has to paired up with anything...white is safe. :)

So, get out there and BBQ, sun tan, be with friends and family, enjoy the water, drink responsibly [if that's what you like to do]...and be grateful to be in this wonderful country we call Canada!

My name is Donna...

...and I'm a Laser Tag addict!

Mind you, I only played it once,...last night....and want to play it again, and again, and again!

Could it be that I was once a fighter in a past life? I totally love the idea of hitting a target [not a live target w/ an actual bullet...I'm not that psycho]...just love the feeling of reaching a goal. I'm not competitive by nature, but suit me up in a laser tag vest and give me a laser gun and away I go.....OUT OF MY WAY! Best part is...played with my son and some co-workers. My laughing gave me away, at times....damn giggles!

I became psycho-not-scared-of-you Mom when my son was the "Vampire"....I totally took the bull by the horns and went after him like Bruce Willis chasing a bad guy! Bring-It-On seemed to be my Motto. Chuckle! We had so much fun!

What a great way to exercise, mind you! I had NO intention of playing and showed up in my flip-flops/jeans/long-sleeved top....Cripes...I could have been on an episode of What-Not-To-Wear-Playing-Laser-Tag! I totally understand why a tank would be worn! And, luckily we had music playing to disguise the click,click,click of my flip-flops! :) I walked out of the building drenched like I had just given birth...huffing like I needed my Bricanyl [actually, it wasn't that bad]...they say you "forget" after it's done! :o) So, until I can suit up again...50 push-ups...NOW!

Loved the rain...

...from yesterday! Yes, I did!

I was sitting at the table and looking outside. I stopped to really listen...just the sound of the rain coming down on the roof and deck. Brought back many memories...one of which, when I was younger [MUCH younger] at the first signs of rain, we'd run indoors to change into bathing suits and use Mother Natures sprinkler and just enjoy!

It is also a time to sit back and relax. I love to read, especially when it is raining outside.

Sometimes...a walk in the rain seems to wash away your troubles, even if temporarily. A cleansing! Luke Bryan has it right: Rain Is A Good Thing!

For now, sunshine is good...I love the sunshine! :o)

Sharing is NOT what I want to do...

....when it comes to our workplace bathroom.

First of all...I do not like [I repeat - DO NOT like] to touch public toilet seats! Ewww! And, don't get me wrong: I have 2 boys at home. I am not opposed to having the toilet seat cover left up. Cover...not the seat. When the toilet seat is up [men] it means I have to touch the seat. Bleh!

I am not a germ freak...but something about touching a toilet seat grosses me out! Bad enough the toilet spits water at us....

Is that a yellow drip I see on the seat?! [Ewwww!]
